Neon Abyss 2 1.0 Update: Storm Raid, Tia & Patch Notes

The Neon Abyss 2 1.0 update adds the Storm Raid mode, Titan boss Tia, Steam achievements, agent files, suit reworks and a long list of multiplayer fixes.

The Neon Abyss 2 1.0 update launched on October 8, 2026, ending Early Access and bringing the full version to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch. It is the biggest patch the game has ever received: a new mode, a new Titan boss, Steam achievements, an agent-files system, suit reworks, and a long list of performance and multiplayer fixes. Here is everything in it.

New Mode: Storm Raid

The headline feature is Storm Raid (风暴突袭), a new mode described by the developers as simpler and faster than the main dungeon-crawling experience. Instead of freely exploring a biome room by room, you choose different routes and challenge stages sequentially — the game serves the run to you. The official announcement specifically recommends it as a great fit for co-op teams, which makes sense: less exploration chatter, more fighting together.

Storm Raid went through a beta test on the game's beta branch before launch, and the 1.0 patch already addresses several mode-specific issues, such as a bug that trapped players in a faith room with no way back to the main flow, and a hang that could occur when returning to the bar after a Storm Raid boss. If you mostly play Neon Abyss 2 in short sessions or with friends, this mode is the reason to update.

New Titan Boss: Tia, the God of Vanity

The 1.0 update adds a new Titan boss, Tia (缇娅), the God of Vanity — described as the Titan Group's chief brand officer, the absolute authority on beauty and trend, who turns aesthetics into shackles and blinds people with brilliant light. She joins the existing boss roster alongside the 1.0 agent-files system, which adds a boss route map showing challenge routes, node details and unlock states so you can plan which god to hunt next.

Also new on the agent side: a random agent (???). Picking this agent turns you into a randomly chosen character each run and grants one extra treasure, adding a surprise element for veteran players. The agent files also record each agent's exclusive skills, boss kill records and highest Fate values.

Steam Achievements and Progression Systems

Steam achievements officially arrived with 1.0 — the release ships with 32 achievements, and any conditions you had already met unlocked automatically on first launch of the update. This closed a long-standing gap, since Early Access players had been running the game without Steam achievements for the entire Early Access period.

Beyond achievements, the update touches nearly every progression system. Several item suits were mechanically reworked and visually improved, weapon affixes were expanded, and the Artisanism faith was redesigned around the new affix-badge mechanic. The evolution tree's unlock order was also tuned to improve the new-player experience.

The suit reworks are worth naming because they change established builds. One suit moved from paid active hacking to a permanent rainbow key with automatic hacking in range; another added a 1.5x grenade blast radius on top of its explosion immunity and free grenades. A pet-focused suit improved the egg-to-shield conversion with clearer visuals, a jump-based suit now spawns tracking turret clouds every third imprint for a new jump-damage archetype, a wisp suit generates 10 purple wisps per battle with 10x faster respawn and 2x charge speed, and a crystal suit halves the crystal cost of active curios and stores up to six crystal daggers that fire periodically in combat. If you followed Early Access build guides, re-read your favorite suit before assuming it still works the same way.

Fishing Room, Bar and Quality-of-Life

The fishing room gained a day/night cycle with sky, water reflections and distance fog, plus a new chest-related hidden boss whose trigger conditions the developers left for players to discover. The bar hub received a music player: if you own the OST or supporter-pack DLC, you can play any track from the game's soundtrack. Supporter outfits got a refresh with several new looks.

On the settings side, graphics and frame rate are now configured independently (PC offers medium/high presets and 60/120/unlimited frame-rate options), 21:9 ultrawide resolutions like 2560×1080, 3440×1440 and 3840×1600 are now supported, and gamepad vibration and screen shake can be toggled separately. Loading was restructured to spread scene and resource preparation across multiple frames, and high-frequency attack effects were optimized. Menus also gained level-by-level back navigation, QTE prompts now follow your custom movement keys, and pickup and salvage sound effects play by room range — small changes that add up if you play long sessions.

Multiplayer Fixes in 1.0

Co-op received one of the longest fix lists in the patch. Highlights include:

  • Settlement cards no longer go missing or display incompletely when reports arrive early or players leave mid-run.
  • Fixed a "ghost online" bug where a host had disconnected but clients still saw the room as live; PC exits now notify teammates.
  • Individual saves and multiplayer progress are now properly isolated, fixing issues where online progress bled into personal saves.
  • Fixed lost melee animations, paper-gun ammo desync, coin pickup ownership errors, cross-room mines exploding incorrectly, and several sync problems with room mechanisms.
  • The Smiling Merchant now correctly closes his shop for clients after a co-op trade.

Bug Fixes Beyond Multiplayer

The rest of the patch touches nearly everything: boss-room doors that couldn't be entered, a Zeus idle bug, a Dark Zeus 30-minute challenge timer fix (pause and loading no longer count against the limit), fishing-room hidden-boss triggers, weapon-charge and melee attack-speed bugs, reward deletion and duplication issues, collision and interaction blockers, input residue after popups, save backup and recovery improvements (Steam backups now handle both the main save and its progress data), and various UI and localization fixes. Localization was re-reviewed across supported languages, and menus gained level-by-level back navigation.

A few fixes deserve special mention because they touched long-standing pain points. Save handling was the big one: the update added compatibility checks for historical saves and dynamic level recovery, and corrupted saves are now preserved as-is instead of being overwritten with mismatched content — a direct response to bad-save reports from the community. Boss challenge timing was also cleaned up: the Dark Zeus 30-minute condition now checks your effective in-run game time, keeps accumulating across continued sessions, and already-opened doors no longer slam shut if you pass the limit mid-run. Quality-of-life touch-ups ranged from the return stone gaining a short preparation window to pickup and salvage sound effects playing by room range.

Post-1.0 plans are to be confirmed — the launch post says only that the team will keep polishing and adding content in future versions.
